Brian Leonard, President & CEO

Following in both of his parents footsteps, who spent their working years in the medical field, Brian Leonard received his first EMT certification during his senior year of high school in Cedar Rapids IA. Before starting Cardio Partners (formerly Code Red) in 2005, Brian spent 5 years working as in EMS and in a Level 1 trauma center in Iowa City, Iowa. Brian quickly realized the significant need for every workplace to have access to Automated External Defibrillators and staff trained in CPR. In its infancy, Cardio Partners started purely as a training company, however once Brian began skillfully providing this service for large companies he quickly incorporated selling all brands of FDA approved AEDs.

In 2007, Brian moved the headquarters of Cardio Partners to the city of Chicago and this when Cardio Partners became a national player in the medical equipment and training space. Brian has always had a passion to increase the survival rate of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This became even more important in 2009 when Brian’s father, Donald Leonard, suffered a SCA arrest event and survived. Due to complications from the SCA event, Donald died later in the year due to massive stroke.

Within five years of opening its doors, Cardio Partners is a true turnkey solution by providing customers with the education and expertise needed to develop national emergency response programs. Since its inception Cardio Partners has experienced in excess of triple digit growth year after year, making Cardio Partners one of the largest equipment and training providers in the US.

As President/CEO, Brian‘s main focus is day-to-day executive decisions for Cardio Partners and working with Cardio Partner’s large national accounts. Brian has spent time instructing First Aid/CPR classes, Johnson County Defibrillation Task Force Board of Directors, National Association of EMS Educators Education Committee, committee member of Building a Healthier Chicago, committee member of Chicagoland Chamber Health and Wellness Committee, and recently Brian became the youngest board member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
